Community
Community is where our values come to life.
At Waldorf School of the Peninsula, education is a shared experience. Our students are held not just by their teachers and classmates, but by an entire community of parents, alumni, relatives, volunteers, and friends who show up with heart and hands.
Whether we’re crafting lanterns for a festival, organizing a parent talk, helping in the garden, or volunteering at Winter Faire, we are modeling for our children what it means to participate, to collaborate, and to care.
Many hands make light work—and lasting impact.
Our school thrives when everyone lends a hand. This isn’t about perfection or pressure—it’s about showing up. When you engage with WSP, you’re not just supporting your child. You’re joining a community that celebrates connection, honors contribution, and believes in growing something beautiful together.
Parent Involvement
We don’t just invite parents in—we rely on them.
At WSP, parents are essential to the rhythm and vibrancy of school life. From nursery through high school, your presence makes a difference. Whether you're chaperoning a class trip, hosting an event, or lending your spreadsheet chops, your work enriches the student experience and strengthens our shared culture.
There are many ways to get involved, and we welcome each family to find what feels meaningful. Volunteer at the Winter Faire. Join the Parent Group. Take photos, lead a craft, or share your professional expertise. However you choose to participate, you’ll be modeling service, commitment, and connection for your child—and you’ll feel it, too.
The Parent Group
A hub for parents. A bridge to the school.
The Parent Group fosters collaboration, communication, and parent-led initiatives. All WSP parents and guardians are members. Through regular meetings, school-wide projects, and committee work, the Parent Group helps strengthen the family-school partnership.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice,
and Belonging
Whole-child education includes every child, every family, every identity.
At WSP, we are committed to fostering a culture of belonging. We honor and welcome the full diversity of our community and actively work to deepen equity and inclusion throughout our school life.
Through reflection, education, and action, we strive to:
See and support every student and family
Address bias and systemic inequity
Grow a school culture grounded in dignity and respect
We walk this path humbly and with care, as part of a broader Waldorf movement toward justice. Read WSP’s statement on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice, and Belonging.
“The healing social life is found only
When, in the mirror of each soul,
The whole community finds its reflection,
And when, in the whole community,
The virtue of each one is living."
– Motto of Social Ethic, Rudolf Steiner
Volunteering
A vibrant school community is built by many hands.
At WSP, volunteering isn’t just a way to help—it’s a way to belong. Each year, parents, caregivers, alumni, and friends bring their talents, time, and heart to help our school thrive.
From crafting decorations for Winter Faire to helping at admissions events, from gardening with a class to sharing professional skills—there are countless ways to get involved.
Examples of how you can volunteer:
