Dear Parents,

Thank you for considering Waldorf School of the Peninsula for the education of your most precious gift, your child. We look forward to meeting and getting to know your family and hope this is the beginning of a wonderful new journey for you.

For all applicants we ask that you first come to one of our Tuesday tours to see our school, meet our staff, and familiarize yourself with Waldorf education. The tour includes an overview of the Waldorf philosophy and curriculum, detailed information about our school, a walk through several grades, early childhood information and an opportunity to speak directly with class and special subjects teachers. This tour is for parents only and is a formal event that starts promptly at 9:30 and ends at 11:15. Please sign up in advance if you can by filling out a request for information.
 
After the tour the admissions procedure begins with the completion of an application form, including non-refundable application fee. Once we have reviewed your application we will ask you to complete a detailed interview form for each child and  provide previous school records (if applicable.)  Since the Waldorf pedagogy is based on the developmental stages of the child, class placement adheres very closely to the age schedule listed below (based on birth date.)  For children applying to our nursery and kindergarten programs, play-based group interviews will be scheduled.  For children transferring in to the grades, the process includes interviews with class teachers, assessments (academic and overall) as well as a shadow week in the classroom before a final admissions decision is made.
