Nursery - Grade 8

Admission Criteria

Waldorf School of the Peninsula is a co-educational private school, organized in 1984 under the laws of the state of California. The school welcomes students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin or religion and from diverse family and economic backgrounds. It does not discriminate on the basis of these factors in admission and tuition policies. Children must be at least 4 years, 9 months old to enter kindergarten. Children must be 6 years old by June 1 to be considered for first grade the following September.

The admissions procedure begins with the completion of an application form. A non-refundable fee is payable when the initial application for enrollment is made. Upon application to the school, parents are asked either to provide previous school records or to sign a release allowing the school to request records from the previous school. The designated class teacher and, in some cases, the educational support teacher review these records to determine the placement of the student. A child is officially accepted following an enrollment interview, at which time the teacher meets with parent(s) and child.

Acceptance is based on the school’s ability to meet the child’s needs and the compatibility of the family’s and school’s educational goals. Grade level is determined by the child’s birth date.
